What Is CEC Accreditation?
The Clean Energy Council (CEC) is Australia's peak body for the clean energy industry. CEC accreditation for solar installers is the recognised qualification standard that enables:
Installation of solar PV systems that qualify for the federal Small-scale Technology Certificate (STC) rebate
Approval of grid connection applications from most Distribution Network Service Providers (DNSPs)
Signing of the CEC Design and Installation Certificate required by most DNSPs and building certifiers

Maintaining Accreditation
CEC accreditation must be renewed annually. To maintain accreditation, installers must:
Submit a minimum number of installations per year (typically 5 per annum)
Complete the required hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Remain compliant with the CEC Code of Conduct
Hold current Contractor's All Risk (CAR) insurance
The CEC publishes the list of currently accredited installers at cleanenergycouncil.org.au — consumers should always verify their installer's accreditation status before signing a contract.
